From Organization Menu, click Manage Manufacturers
Manufacturers are a way of organizing your products to make navigating through your site easier for your customers, similar to departments and categories.
Note: Every product must be assigned to a manufacturer, but if you do not want to enable browsing by manufacturers on your website, you can leave them all assigned to the default "Generic Mfg" that comes preloaded in your admin site.
To create a manufacturer, click on the Manufacturers menu in the admin site, then click the Add New link in the tree. For an explanation of all of the fields that can be set for each manufacturer, see here.
Products are assigned to a manufacturer on the Edit Product page, as shown below:
