Restarting a site through the web.config file

How to Restart a Site Using the web.config file

  1. FTP access the site, download the web.config file from the {root} folder to your local computer
  2. Open the web.config file in a text editor such as Notepad
  3. Make a change then delete it, such as a space at the end of a line (Space bar, Backspace key)
  4. SAVE the web.config file
  5. Upload the file back to the site through FTP, overwriting the existing web.config file
  6. Browse the site
