International country reverting to United States in shipping address

Symptom

When using the Smart One Page Checkout (SOPC), all international countries in the shipping address are, incorrectly, being reverted to United States, which can result in shipping error messages such as "no shipping methods found" or "invalid address"

Solution

To fix the issue:
  1. In the Admin Console, follow this menu path: Configuration>Advanced>AppConfig Parameters
  2. Copy and paste Vortx.OnePageCheckout.UseZipcodeService into the search field.
  3. Turn off Vortx.OnePageCheckout.UseZipcodeService. In other words, make sure this AppConfig is set to FALSE.

Cause

This problem occurs when the SOPC Zip Code Service (Yahoo!) is used (AppConfig: Vortx.OnePageCheckout.UseZipCodeService)
