The display of product and entity pages is handled by XML Packages. Each XML package has a different general layout and supported features.
The software comes with a number of entity- and product-level XML packages that can be used as they come 'out of the box', or modified as desired. You switch between different XML packages by changing the 'Display Format XML Package' setting on the product or entity in the admin console.
Note: Modifying XML packages requires a knowledge of XML, XSLT, HTML, CSS, etc. If you are not familiar with this kind of work and need a modified XML package for your site, any of the DevNet Partners on our site can assist.

Also, remember that only the 'content' area of product/entity pages is managed by the XML package. The surrounding areas (header, footer, menus, etc) are controlled by the main skin template (and therefore aren't shown in the images below).
