Forms Authentication Failed Errors in Event Viewer

Symptoms
Event Viewer shows repeated "Forms authentication failed for the request. Reason: The ticket supplied was invalid." errors.
Cause
This is caused by a customer with an expired authentication cookie hitting the site, and is perfectly normal.
Solution
No action is required.
