Mapping promotions to stores is how you determine which order options, coupons, and gift cards are valid on which stores. Order options will only appear on the shopping cart page in stores that they are mapped to, and coupons and gift cards will give an 'invalid code' message on stores they aren't mapped to.
1 - First, if you want promotions to vary from store to store, you need to set the AllowCouponFiltering, AllowGiftCardFiltering, and/or AllowOrderOptionFiltering GlobalConfigs to true.
2 - Next, go to Configuration -> Store Maintenance and click on the 'Store Mapping' tab, then choose the promotion type you want to work on from the dropdown menu at the top of the page (Coupons, Gift Cards, or Order Options).
3 - After the page reloads, a grid will display showing all of the promotions of the type you chose and stores, with a checkbox for each.
4 - Check off the box(es) for the promotion that you want to work on each store, then click the 'Save' link at the top of the grid.
